Mineral processing solutions: the key to optimized operations

Mineral processing is described as crushing and separating ore into valuable substances or waste by one of many techniques, a process which seems relatively simple when described in this way. In reality, it is by no means simple, but rather a highly complex and labour-intensive practice.
Mineral processing is a precise and exacting practice, which is why the discipline requires expert mineral processing solutions. When processing minerals including gold, iron, nickel, copper, coal and other specialized beneficiation, leading-edge technology is the best ally – and a must – as each of these substances come with their own set of precise requirements and specifications.
Ensuring maximum separation efficiency and lower running costs helps establish a fast, effective and successful mineral processing operation. Fine-tuned and durable solutions are the best tools to conduct optimized mineral processing.
Expert mineral processing solutions
In the field of extractive metallurgy, mineral processing, which is also known as ore dressing, is defined as the process of separating commercially valuable minerals from their ores. Highly advanced work tools have been developed and perfected for this purpose in order to yield superior results.
At Multotec Canada, mineral processing solutions range from light to heavy-duty tools, offering a range of superior quality classification cyclones for all mineral processing applications. Once exact processing needs have been determined, a classification of cyclone specific to your application and work needs can then be selected.
The scrolled evolute high capacity inlet head
The special feature of our cyclones is its scrolled evolute high capacity inlet head design, developed to increase cyclone efficiency and consequently minimize coarse displacement into the overflow and fines into the underflow. Our high capacity cyclones are made from mild steel and feature different wear-resistant lining options for longer wear life, in addition to weep holes. These holes allow staff to easily inspect and detect pierced or worn linings on all cyclone parts, and prevent damage to housings. Replaceable rubber linings significantly reduce operation, maintenance, and inventory holding costs. Components such as the vortex finder are made from different materials including ceramic or polyurethane. Cyclone components are also interchangeable, which helps reduce costs, as used components can be replaced and modified to alter the cyclone performance. They can also be easily adapted to changes in plant operation.
A solution for every need and application
Multotec offers cyclones with small to large diameters, as well as special application hydrocyclones, which provide optimal classification and plenty of operating flexibility.
Mineral sampling: the proper tools
Mineral sample preparation is undoubtedly a vital stage in the process of minerals analytical testing. Its purpose is generally the production of a homogeneous subsample. Correct preparation of the samples is critical to obtaining meaningful analytical results, and proper mineral deposit sampling is essential to assessing its economic viability of extraction. Hence, the proper equipment is absolutely essential to producing proper samples.
Multotec metallurgical accounting samplers are specifically designed according to the sampling theory to allow each particle an even chance of being selected, ensuring statistical correctness and minimized variance. When properly positioned in your process, they are designed to enhance precision to consolidate all ore values from the crusher to the mill exit; that is, from input to output, allowing for an accurate mineral balance and thus enhancing the control of the process. This, in turn, creates better recovery.
Our samplers offer several features: the compact and robust units are designed for easy installation and maintenance access and feature a control panel, allowing adjustments to sample sizes, and ensuring made-to-measure processing solutions.
Multotec offers sampling solutions for both wet and dry process control sampling.
